Matthew 21:1-16

1 When they drew near Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find an ass tethered, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them here to me.
3 And if anyone should say anything to you, reply, 'The master has need of them.' Then he will send them at once."
4 This happened so that what had been spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled:
5 "Say to daughter Zion, 'Behold, your king comes to you, meek and riding on an ass, and on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.'"
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had ordered them.
7 They brought the ass and the colt and laid their cloaks over them, and he sat upon them.
8 The very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and strewed them on the road.
9 The crowds preceding him and those following kept crying out and saying: "Hosanna 7 to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna in the highest."
10 And when he entered Jerusalem the whole city was shaken and asked, "Who is this?"
11 And the crowds replied, "This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee."
12 Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those engaged in selling and buying there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.
13 And he said to them, "It is written: 'My house shall be a house of prayer,' but you are making it a den of thieves."
14 The blind and the lame approached him in the temple area, and he cured them.
15 When the chief priests and the scribes saw the wondrous things he was doing, and the children crying out in the temple area, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant
16 and said to him, "Do you hear what they are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes; and have you never read the text, 'Out of the mouths of infants and nurslings you have brought forth praise'?"

Psalms 60:1-14

1 For the leader; according to "The Lily of...." A miktam of David (for teaching),
2 when he fought against Aram-Naharaim and Aram-Zobah; and Joab, coming back, killed twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
3 O God, you rejected us, broke our defenses; you were angry but now revive us.
4 You rocked the earth, split it open; repair the cracks for it totters.
5 You made your people go through hardship, made us stagger from the wine you gave us.
6 Raise up a flag for those who revere you, a refuge for them out of bow shot. Selah
7 Help with your right hand and answer us that your loved ones may escape.
8 In the sanctuary God promised: "I will exult, will apportion Shechem; the valley of Succoth I will measure out.
9 Gilead is mine, mine is Manasseh; Ephraim is the helmet for my head, Judah, my own scepter. 10 Moab is my washbowl; upon Edom I cast my sandal. I will triumph over Philistia."
11 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?
12 Was it not you who rejected us, God? Do you no longer march with our armies?
13 Give us aid against the foe; worthless is human help.
14 We will triumph with the help of God, who will trample down our foes.

Psalms 61:1-9

1 For the leader; with stringed instruments. Of David.
2 Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer!
3 From the brink of Sheol I call; my heart grows faint. Raise me up, set me on a rock,
4 for you are my refuge, a tower of strength against the foe.
5 Then I will ever dwell in your tent, take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah
6 O God, when you accept my vows and hear the plea of those who revere your name in prayer:
7 "Add to the days of the king's life; may his years be many generations;
8 May he reign before God forever; may your love and fidelity preserve him"--
9 Then I will sing your name forever, fulfill my vows day after day.
